Research

It allows coaches to separate fact from fiction, reach sharper conclusions and ultimately make better decisions. At ICF we’re here to arm coaches with the knowledge they need to excel at their craft and their business. We’ve put all the work into conducting and curating the research and making it easy to access and add to.

Industry Research

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) invests in industry research to demonstrate the highly effective nature of coaching. This allows the community of coaches to stand strong with fresh knowledge of industry trends to inform their daily decisions.

Seeking Your Input: Coaching Snapshot Survey

Help us gain a glimpse into the current state of coaching by completing the 2024 ICF Coaching Snapshot Survey. In addition to questions about the profession, this survey is also taking a look at coaching and well-being as well as coaching in organizations.

Our Coaching Snapshot research aims to explore contemporary factors and emerging trends that contribute to coaching’s dynamic landscape so that coaching professionals can stay current and prepare for future demands.

We are seeking responses from:

  • External coach practitioners.
  • Internal coach practitioners.
  • Human resources and talent development directors.
  • Managers/leaders who use coaching skills.

You do not have to be an ICF member or affiliated with ICF in any way to complete the survey.

We also encourage you to share the survey link with your peers: bit.ly/2024-coaching-snapshot-survey. Doing so will help us achieve responses from as many coaches and managers/leaders who use coaching skills worldwide as possible and ensure global inclusiveness.

Anyone who completes the survey will receive an advanced copy of the Executive Summary when it is ready.

About the Survey

ICF has commissioned PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to conduct the survey (and accompanying study). Your survey responses will be kept confidential, and only aggregate study results will be reported. The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

The survey is currently available in English, with translations to be released by March 12: French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin (Simplified Chinese), Portuguese, and Spanish.

The survey will close April 24.
