Core Competency CCE
Core Competency Continuing Coach Education Accreditation is granted for supplemental and advanced learning opportunities which directly relate to or expand upon the ICF Core Competencies.
One Core Competency Continuing Coach Education (CCE) unit is awarded for each one hour spent in Core Competency CCE. Break time is not included in CCE units. CCE units may be awarded in fractions and will not be rounded up or down. CCE units may be awarded for all or part of the total training hours in a course.
- Synchronous Learning (SL): Refers to a learning environment allowing synchronous (real-time) interactions between faculty and students. This may include time spent in direct instruction, real-time discussions, observation and feedback or practice coaching sessions, and mentoring students. SL CCE may be delivered live via lecture, telephone conference, or webinar.
- Asynchronous Learning (AL): Refers to a learning environment outside of real-time interaction between faculty and students. These may include outside reading, writing, research, journaling, and various other activities that may occur outside of the synchronous setting. Must adhere to ICF Blended Learning Requirements in order for AL to be accepted as Core Competency CCE.
- Blended Learning (BL): Refers to a learning environment in which training is delivered through a combination of both Synchronous Learning and Asynchronous Learning. For more information please refer to the ICF Blended Learning Requirements.
