MCC Path

There is only one application type for the Master Certified Coach. Review the requirements below for additional information.

Please note that, beginning February 28, 2019, at 12 Noon (New York), coaches will be required to hold a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential before they can apply for the Master Certified Coach (MCC) credential.

  • MCC Path

    Requirements:

    • 200 hours of coach-specific training.
    • 10 hours of Mentor Coaching over a minimum of three months. Your Mentor Coach must be an MCC in good standing. This cannot be the same Mentor Coaching that was applied toward a previous ICF Credential application.
    • A minimum of 2,500 hours (2,250 paid) of coaching experience with at least 35 clients, following the start of your coach-specific training.
    • Performance evaluation (two audio recordings and written transcripts of coaching sessions).
    • Complete the Coach Knowledge Assessment (CKA) unless previously passed when applying for ACC or PCC.

    Pricing:

    • ICF Members: $575 USD
    • Non-members: $775 USD

  • Training Requirements

    Candidates on the MCC Portfolio Path must complete at least 200 hours of coach-specific training.

  • Mentor Coaching

    MCC candidates must document at least 10 hours of Mentor Coaching on their online application.

  • Experience Requirements

    Applicants for ICF Credentials are required to demonstrate a set number of hours of coaching experience. Coaches must complete an attestation of this experience as part of the application.

  • Coach Knowledge Assessment

    The Coach Knowledge Assessment (CKA) is a tool that can be used to measure coaches’ understanding of the knowledge and skills important in the practice of coaching. The CKA tests coaches on their understanding of the body of knowledge that includes the ICF definition of coaching, Core Competencies and Code of Ethics.

  • Performance Evaluation and Transcripts

    The MCC process includes a performance evaluation where ICF Assessors will review two recorded coaching sessions with transcripts. You are required to pass this performance evaluation at the MCC level in order to be awarded the MCC credential.

  • Submission

    Do not send documentation to ICF Headquarters by mail or email. Only documentation that has been included with your online application will be accepted.
