  • Format

As coaches, we wield enormous influence for our clients, our communities and our world. During Advance 2020, we’ll explore the forces that influence coaching, and explore how we can leverage the work we do to change the world.

Each week, we’ll explore a different question:

    • In Week 1, we’ll ask, “How is the World Changing Coaching?” Session topics will include Executive Coaching in organizations and the democratization of coaching.
    • In Week 2, we’ll ask, “How is Coaching Changing for the Client?” Session topics will include the impact of toxic people on clients and the intersection of context and coaching with an emphasis on diversity, inclusion and belonging.
    • In Week 3, we’ll ask, “How is Coaching Changing the World?” During our sessions, we’ll explore the concept of compassionate presence, learn more about how our peers are using coaching in wild and wonderful ways to support clients, and explore why and how unique coaching methods and outreach work.

Learning and connection will take place via a variety of session formats.

    • Exploration Sessions: In these informative sessions, a subject-matter expert will present details about an evidence-based theory related to coaching.
    • Integration Conversations: In these practical sessions, the Exploration Session subject-matter expert will join the ICF Advance Provocateur and attendees to discuss the application of the earlier presented evidence-based theory.
    • Spark Sessions: In these stimulating sessions, a subject-matter expert will present emerging trends related to coaching that will inspire and invoke new perspectives.
    • Collaborative Conversations: In these interactive sessions, the Provocateur will recap key takeaways from the week and attendees will participate in small group discussions sharing their inspirations, ideas and actions.
