Communities of Practice

ICF Communities of Practice (CPs) are a great way to build your global network while advancing your coaching knowledge. CPs provide a platform for sharing best practices, and emerging trends, tools, and tips among coaches to advance their professional development and deepen their subject matter expertise. Plus, CPs are a free ICF member benefit and offer Continuing Coaching Education (CCE) units needed for ICF credential renewal.

These online groups offer professional development and network-building opportunities through a variety of outputs, including:

  • Webinar presentations from subject matter experts.
  • Facilitated discussion sessions.
  • Community discussion boards.

Each CP is steered by volunteer co-leaders who help facilitate the learning and organize the conversations, ideas, and trends that emerge from the group. Active participation in the live sessions and online discussion threads is encouraged! In fact, vibrant discussions related to CPs take place every day on Engage, an ICF member-exclusive virtual community. Come for the discussion, stay for the community!

Each CP offers a live session once a quarter. All sessions are recorded and available on demand in the ICF Learning Portal, so you can re-watch or view on your own time if you missed the live session.

Topics/Areas of Focus

CPs are intended for ICF members and other coaches who are interested in one or more of the following topic areas:

  • Career Coaching
  • Coaching Science
  • Coaching Supervision
  • Ethics
  • Executive and Leadership Coaching
  • Health and Wellness Coaching
  • Internal Coaching
  • Life Vision and Enhancement Coaching
  • Team and Group Coaching

Pricing

ICF-member pricing: Free. CPs are an ICF member benefit, and ICF members can participate in as many CPs as they’d like — completely free of charge. Plus, ICF members receive an additional benefit: Access to ICF Engage, where online discussions related to CP topics take place outside of the quarterly webinar sessions.

Non-member pricing: $35 USD for a 60-minute session and $45 USD for a 90-minute session. Non-members do not have access to ICF Engage [link] and miss out on the opportunity to continue the conversation, build their global network, and further advance their coaching knowledge.
