Accredited Coach training program -actp

The following organizations offer coach-specific training programs that have met the criteria for the ICF's Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP).  ACTP Certified graduates who have fulfilled all requirements will be eligible to apply for ICF credentials using the ACC, PCC or MCC ACTP Graduate Applications.  These applications do not require participation in the ICF Portfolio examination.

Although these training organizations may offer other programs, only the program(s) listed here are ICF accredited.  If you contact an organization to discuss enrollment, please make sure to specify that you are interested in only their accredited program.

CCEUs: In addition, each course in the curriculum of an Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP)  is regarded as CCE (Continuing Coach Education) provided that an applicant has not previously taken the course as part of initial training.

Coach Specific Training: ACTP programs are also by default ACSTH programs.  This means that students may take portions of an ACTP program and apply this training toward an ICF credential.  However, if a student does not complete the full ACTP program (including final exam) they must apply for a credential using the Portfolio Application

Choosing an ACTP

All of our accredited programs have been through a rigorous evaluation process, so we believe they are all excellent programs that share the ICF definition of coaching and the ICF code of ethics.

For advice on which program to choose, we highly encourage you to contact your local ICF chapter and ask where its members received their coach training.  Please do not contact the ICF office for advice; we recommend all programs equally.

There may not be an ICF-accredited program headquartered in your area at this time. However, many of the training organizations offer training over the phone or travel with their programs, offering them in various cities throughout the year.

For detailed information about each program and the provider, please click on the name of the training organization in the list below.
